Stoney Creek is a northeast London, Ontario suburban neighbourhood. The location itself, while far from the Downtown
core, is a prime area to purchase a home. London has been making major developments through the years, continuously expanding the north end. This makes real estate on the edges of town a premiere spot to invest. Stoney Creek is nestled in the north, with boundaries just east of Adelaide Street to Highbury Avenue between Medway Road and Fanshawe Park Road. Residents who live in Stoney Creek have access to fantastic schooling, amenities and green spaces. The subdivisions scattered throughout this suburban neighbourhood provide a safe and comfortable place for families to call home.
Development in the Stoney Creek area first began in the 1970’s. With developments underway as recently as 2017, this is a neighbourhood that expands with the city. Single-family homes, townhouses and apartment buildings comprise the bulk of properties in this area. The south end of Stoney Creek saw these developments starting in the 1970’s while the north end is currently under development. Buyers will notice a variety of single-family homes in this area. From contemporary new builds starting at $750k to spacious two-storeys built in 2004 priced at $450k, this neighbourhood attracts buyers from varying budgets. There are also spacious apartment condominiums available for purchase or rent.
Green spaces are abundant in Stoney Creek, and there are always multiple residents out walking their dog at any given time of day. Residents can enjoy time outdoors at Constitution Park, Stephens Park, and Wenige Park. Here, there are accessible green spaces, basketball courts, splash pads and playgrounds. For even more green space, there are many trails and paths linking the small streets which are lined with towering trees (in the south end of the neighbourhood – developments are still underway in the north end)
Students in London can also take advantage of two renowned post-secondary institutions available to them. Western University and Fanshawe College offer fantastic education to further your child’s learning and career.
Stoney Creek is a fifteen to twenty-minute drive from Downtown (depending on the time of day), but this doesn’t mean there’s a shortage of amenities in the area. Residents who live here frequently shop at the Stoneybrook Shopping Plaza. Only a four-minute drive away, The Home Depot, Sobey’s North London, TD Canada Trust, Starbucks, Popeye’s, and Rexall Pharma Plus are at Stoney Creek residents disposal.
For even more amenities, residents can head just five more minutes west down Fanshawe Park Road to Masonville Mall. This is the second largest shopping district in the city. Here, residents have no shortage of entertainment, dining and amenities available to them. The Bay, Staples Business Depot, Best Buy, Subway, LCBO, The Beer Store, Beertown Public House, Michael Kors, Lululemon, Bulk Barn, Wendy’s, McDonald’s (just to name a few) are all located within walking distance of each other.
